WRAWF Dressage

After the Vet Check, Samantha and Redneck were on the warming up area together with some other riders. She sat in the saddle, the reins collected and everyone she asked told her, that he or she was competing in the maiden class. Even though Sam was proud, that Redneck had so many experiences, she suddenly felt old somehow.
She patted the neck of her stallion and allowed him to canter a big circle on the warming-up area. Their class was the last one, so Sam took the time to groom Redneck again and then get back to the arena.
Her name was called and Samantha rode through the gate to enter the dressage circle. Even though she felt nervous because of all the visitors here, it was so good to come to events every now and then and feel the athmosphere there.
Sam stopped and greeted the judges, while Redneck flipped his ears in excitement. He raised his head and snorted silently, then they started their performance.
Redneck was ambitious. He seemed to love and live every movement he made, every step forward. He trotted, then entered into a passage as if there was nothing he could do better. Sam smiled, even if she was so concentrated and tensed, but with Redneck being so confident, it was really fun. Sam remembered his training sessions after they had brought him from Castle Linderhof. He had been a really nervous horse and neither did he like other horses, nor a rider on his back. But with a lot of work, they had finally made him a grand prix dressage horse! And he was enjoying his work!
When they were finished and Samantha guided Redneck to the exit, she was really happy with their run. She dismounted the stallion, patted his neck and smiled.
„I wonder if your daughter will be just as lovely as you are...“, she said and stroked his nose. „And now let's get you some apples, how about that?“
